After successfully completing a degree in tropical/subtropical agronomy at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, Czech Republic, Martina went on to graduate studies in international organic agriculture at the University of Kassel, Germany, giving her a broad background in many forms of agriculture. During her doctoral studies, she focused on nutrient use efficiency in urban gardening of West African cities and later joined the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences of the University of Kassel, where she worked as research assistant and project coordinator for 5 years. Before co-founding SRS in 2017, she joined a certification body, where she was mainly involved in organic certification of Chinese operations according to different standards and contributed to the coordination of the working group. At SRS she functioned as General Manager and as Certification Manager
